Starla
Stiles oversees media outreach efforts, develops media materials
and assists in developing strategic communications for a variety of corporate
and nonprofit clients including Best Buy, Inc., Walgreen Company and Arbitron.
Starla is also responsible for providing support to senior level executives
on crisis communications, media relations, event planning, and
strategic counsel through media outreach; research; and writing and editing
communications plans and media materials.
Prior to joining WMG, Starla served as the communications traffic coordinator
for the American Legacy Foundation, where she worked on a range
of anti-tobacco issues including the award winning truth® campaign and the Bob Quits and Mary
Quits campaigns.
Prior to joining the American Legacy Foundation, Starla held internships
with GYMR Public Relations, Fleishman Hillard Public Relations, Ogilvy
Public Relations and Shell Oil. Her internship experience included conducting research,
writing materials and assisting in media outreach for a variety of clients including
the Washington Business Group on Health, Tampax, the National Black Media Coalition
and MasterCard.
Starla is from Oakland, Calif. She received a B.A. in Public Relations
from Howard University, Washington, DC, with a minor in African American Studies.
