Almina Khorakiwala
Chief of Staff
As
chief of staff, Almina oversees the new employee process, benefit
program and accounting reports. She is also responsible for the
firm's accounts payable and accounts receivable. With a background
in event management, she works with clients to plan corporate and social
functions. In addition, Almina developed and manages the WMG internship
program.
Almina started at the Walker Marchant Group as an account coordinator,
where she worked on several accounts including Johnson & Johnson,
Park Hyatt Washington, Sodexho USA, RLJ Companies, America's Second Harvest,
the Washington Convention Center Authority and the D.C. Sports and Entertainment
Commission. Later,
as an assistant account executive, she provided support to senior-level executives
through media outreach, media monitoring and analysis and in-depth research. Almina
continues to play a vital role in the writing and development of communications
strategies and materials.
Prior to joining WMG, Almina was a correspondence assistant and the
internship coordinator for U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer in the Capitol Hill
office. Almina's
responsibilities included managing several of Senator Boxer's key policy issues
such as women's rights, immigration, health care and environmental issues.
Almina also has experience in customer care and financial services from
three years as a Financial Associate with Citibank in Corona
Del Mar, California. Her
responsibilities included opening new accounts; consulting with
clients to sell appropriate banking products; handling financial transactions
for high deposit customers; opening and closing the branch; and training
new employees. The Corona Del Mar office is one of Southern California's
highest grossing branches.
Almina was born and raised in Southern California. She
received a B.S. in Political Science from the University of California,
Irvine. She also
holds a certificate in Event Management from George Washington
University.
